| Hi all-i want to share the thought from an association on today's meat. The big debate is: grass fed vs grain fed-healthier, tastier? Check out this link: http://products.mercola.com/grass-fed-beef/ |

The trouble is, how are you ever really going to know, unless you go to the farm yourself and see them eating?
Of course we all love the idea of cows roaming free, grazing as they please, but unless a farm is ultra organic, the cattle will still be fed natural produce that they wouldn't normally eat. They are, after all, bred for a good meat yield and feeding them only grass isn't going to add any bulk. |

| Typically in the USA they will advertise the fact that beef is grain fed, otherwise it is implied that it is grass as well as other feed. |

| Just wondering if anyone has ever sampled the grass fed, 'free range' meat, and if so-is it as good as this author implies. |

Grass fed does not always imply organic - it just tells you what the animal ate. Did it graze for food, or was it fed something outside of its natural diet.
There is a difference in the taste - I find that grass fed meat has more yellow fat, which tastes better when tried with biltong (in my opinion). |

| Thanks Aris-that's the answer I was looking for, as that is the common opinion amongst the 'health nuts' here in the US. |
